It\u2019s not often we\u2019re faced with pandemics like the one we\u2019re going through right now. Here\u2019s some vocab that might come in handy!<\/p>\n
Image Via<\/p>\n\n *You might see \u201cCOVID-19<\/em>\u201d used as masculine sometimes and feminine sometimes. The gender in this case is a little complicated, as it\u2019s influenced by the fact that it\u2019s a new and medical term borrowed from English, which itself comes from a bunch of other words smooshed together (\u201cCO\u201d from \u201ccorona,\u201d \u201cVI\u201d from \u201cvirus,\u201d \u201cD\u201d from \u201cdisease,\u201d and \u201c19\u201d from \u201c2019\u201d)!<\/p>\n Let\u2019s get scientific!<\/p>\n\n It\u2019s pretty difficult to look at\/listen to the news nowadays without seeing\/hearing something about COVID-19. It can feel overwhelming at times, and even more so if you\u2019re watching\/reading\/listening to the news in a different language!<\/p>\n We\u2019re giving you a list of some Spanish terms you might come across in the news.
