So, what is a prefix?<\/h2>\n

A prefix is a group of letters at the start of a word. In English, we have prefixes such as \u2018un-\u2019, \u2018pro-\u2019, and \u2018anti-\u2019. Sometimes they\u2019re simply attached to the front of a word that already exists. Other times they\u2019re combined with a part-word to make a whole word. <\/p>\n

Prefixes are basically the opposite of suffixes: they\u2019re at the start of the word instead of the end.<\/p>\n

If you take a basic Spanish word, such as decir (\u2018to say\u2019), you can completely change its meaning by adding different Spanish prefixes.<\/p>\n
